My story

My name is Nicole. I am the mom of 6 amazing children. I had an incredible, life-changing homebirth with midwives in Colorado in 2010. 

I began studying midwifery in 2015 when I enrolled in the Midwives Alliance of PA aspiring midwives & assistants training program. 

I trained as a homebirth assistant under local area midwives and began attending births in 2016. 

A year into my journey as a birth assistant, I was hearing midwifery calling me. That same year, I trained as a master herbalist and founded Hilltop Birth & Herbals which became the home of my herbal product line. 

In 2018, I began learning under Midwife and dear sister, Deborah Fuentes. I continued under her wing until she moved in June of 2020.

This path has led me to lean on several other experienced midwives as mentors while I continue to gain wisdom and skill. At this time, I am accepting homebirth clients under the guidance of my mentor midwives, as a Traditional midwife. After much consideration, I decided to continue pursuing the CPM credential, and finally completed my requirements in January 2023. I believe this will allow me to continue to honor the folk medicine roots of midwifery, while offering that added piece of assurance to the many new families flocking to homebirth during these times.

I continue to study midwifery through Indie Birth Midwifery School, and stay up to date on Neonatal Resuscitation and CPR/BLS, various trainings and continued education, as well as helping at births with other midwives whenever possible to continue to glean invaluable knowledge offered by my elders.

In practice, I focus heavily on nutrition, informed consent & shared decision making, education in natural remedies, and physiological birth practices. I strongly believe that the mutual relationship built upon thorough and complete prenatal care safeguards the birth process.

I live in the beautiful West End of the Pocono mountains. I truly love the people here and It is my dream that one day we will live with a Village mindset again, and I could serve many generations here as our community Midwife
